  • Dear Athens-Clarke County Planning Commissioners,

I urge you to consider granting approval for the Homestead development. As you well know, Athens-Clarke County is facing a housing crisis. Currently, the opportunities for housing for working families who are employed in the county and wish to raise their families here, are extremely limited. I strongly believe that Homestead is the best opportunity we have for providing housing for working families in Athens-Clarke County.

Homestead proposes to be: A mixed-use community, with a range of home plans at varying price points; The live, work and play community that citizens of ACC have asked for and deserve; And an opportunity for ACC leadership to make good on their pledges for more housing in the county for working families. Please, consider supporting Homestead so that Athens-Clarke County can begin to reverse course on its housing crisis by offering new living opportunities for working families.
